Our Story
Joseph Mwansa, born and raised in Kawambwa in Luapula province in Zambia, is a purpose-driven entrepreneur and visionary leader who believes that true transformation begins when dignity and opportunity meet. After spending fourteen years in Kawambwa and another fourteen years in Perth, Australia, Joseph returned to his homeland with a strong conviction to create lasting change through community empowerment.
What began as a small idea to provide clean water access to Joseph’s community has evolved into Global Empowers, a social enterprise redefining sustainable development in Africa. Guided by the belief that every drop of water can spark dignity, Global Empowers has built a model where business and compassion work together. Through its initiatives such as The Water Does Matter project, Vigor Aqua, and the One Bottle Project, the organization channels enterprise funds into sustainable community water systems, youth entrepreneurship, and environmental innovation.
Under Joseph’s leadership, Global Empowers has become more than just an organization; it is a movement proving that Africans can own the solutions to their challenges and build systems that last beyond any donor or founder.
Joseph’s work bridges continents, partnering with universities, governments, and global institutions to bring technology, knowledge, and resources to where they matter most. His vision is clear: by 2045, Global Empowers will reach ten million people, transforming villages into self-reliant communities where clean water flows, dignity thrives, and hope multiplies for generations to come.
